Why wear tight-fitting leotards

It provides a better view of what you are doing i.e. stomach muscle movements, if the spine is relaxed and tailbone is down.

It allows correct movement and posture e.g. some dancers may develop tilted shoulders because their ill-fitting leotards keep sliding off at their shoulders. |

Why pink tights
Although black is more flattering and less revealing, pink tights make it easier to see:

4. Which types of leotard materials to choose

Standard Cotton - Mixture of cotton and lycra is comfortable and has good sweat absorption capability.

New microfibres - Soft and light, but requires hand-washing.

Lycra - With better stretch-ability, it is ideal for swimwear and skates-wear but has lower sweat absorption capability.

Velvet - Being lightweight, it is ideal for costumes and performances for an elegant look. Fairly good sweat absorption capability; keeps you warm too.

Hologram - Being lightweight with a glittering finish, it is ideal for costumes and performances under spotlights. Fairly good sweat absorption capability and keeps you warm. |
